Artilab Etsy Chat Capture

This policy explains how Artilab Manager and the Artilab Etsy Chat Capture browser extension handle information used by authorized Artilab team members for internal custom artwork order workflows.

Single Purpose

Artilab Etsy Chat Capture helps authorized Artilab team members manually capture Etsy conversation transcripts and selected customer reference images, then submit them to Artilab Manager for internal order production and task management.

Information We Process

The extension and app may process the following information only when an authorized user performs an action:

  • Etsy conversation content: customer messages, seller messages, buyer notes, and related order context visible on the active Etsy page.
  • Selected reference images: customer-provided images chosen manually by the user for the artwork brief.
  • Order workflow identifiers: task ID, account ID, receipt ID, shop/order references, and temporary extension code used to connect the capture to the correct Artilab Manager task.
  • Account access data: Artilab Manager login/account information for authorized staff access.
  • Local browser settings: temporary setup values such as Artilab base URL and task information stored locally to make the workflow easier.

How We Use Information

Information is used for internal Artilab studio operations, including:

  • Creating and updating production briefs for paid custom artwork orders.
  • Helping artists and coordinators understand customer requirements and reference images.
  • Tracking task progress, review status, deadlines, and delivery workflow.
  • Debugging and improving the internal capture workflow when needed.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell user data.
  • We do not use customer data for advertising, credit scoring, or unrelated purposes.
  • We do not collect Etsy passwords or payment card information.
  • We do not automatically send messages to Etsy customers.
  • We do not transfer customer information except as needed to operate Artilab Manager and the internal production workflow.

Browser Extension Permissions

The extension asks for permissions needed for its workflow:

  • Active tab and scripting: used only after the user clicks the capture action to read visible Etsy conversation content and image candidates from the active page.
  • Clipboard read/write: used to read setup information copied from Artilab Manager and to copy captured transcripts when requested by the user.
  • Downloads: used when users need to download selected customer reference images for manual review or upload.
  • Storage: used to store temporary setup values locally in the user's browser.
  • Host permissions: used for Etsy pages where conversations are captured and Artilab Manager domains where selected information is submitted.

Data Sharing and Retention

Captured information is submitted to Artilab Manager and used by authorized Artilab staff for the related order workflow. Data is retained for as long as needed to manage production, fulfill the order, resolve operational issues, and maintain business records, unless deletion is requested and legally or operationally permitted.

Security and Access

Artilab Manager is intended for authorized staff use only. Access is controlled through staff accounts and related app permissions. Team members should only capture information from orders they are authorized to handle and should avoid saving unnecessary customer data.
